Structured cabling in a network cabinet
Managed IT · North London and the City

Your IT department. Without the department.

We look after the IT for small firms across North London and the City. Support, Microsoft 365, security, networks, and the cabling behind all of it. You get the same two or three people every time, and they know your setup.

How we work

Three stages, in that order

Most people call us because something's broken. We fix that first. Then we work out why it happened, which is usually the more useful conversation.

01 / AUDIT

We find out what you've actually got

Devices, licences, accounts, switches, backups, contracts, renewal dates. Half the firms we visit are paying for software nobody has opened in a year. You get the findings in writing whether you hire us or not.

02 / STABILISE

We close the gaps that bite

MFA turned on properly. Patching under control. Backups that have actually been restored at least once. Old kit retired and admin accounts tidied up. This is the bit where the number of calls drops.

03 / IMPROVE

We plan the next 12 months

What needs replacing and roughly when, with costs attached so it lands in your budget rather than arriving as a surprise in March. You sign it off. Nothing gets bought without that.

What we cover

The eleven things we do

All of it done by us. We don't hand the awkward bits to a subcontractor you've never spoken to.

Day-to-day IT support

Someone picks up. Most things get sorted the same morning. New starters, leavers, the printer that's stopped talking to anything, the laptop that won't wake up. We also watch the kit in the background, so a failing disk usually gets swapped before anyone notices it.

Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace

Mail, Teams and SharePoint set up so people find things and nobody stumbles into a folder they shouldn't. We build the document libraries, sort out the permissions, and set up secure external sharing so you can send a client a file without emailing it as an attachment. If you're on the wrong platform we'll move you, and we'll say so if moving isn't worth the disruption.

Cybersecurity

Nobody is targeting you specifically. They're scanning for the easy stuff: accounts without MFA, leavers who still have a login, someone who's never seen a convincing fake invoice. We close those off and train your staff on the rest.

Laptop, mobile and tablet management

Your data walks out of the building every evening. We encrypt and patch the devices centrally and keep a register of what's where. If a laptop goes missing on the train we can wipe it before you've finished the journey.

Wireless access point and network hardware

Wi-Fi surveys and optimisation

Nine times out of ten it isn't the broadband. It's where the access points ended up, which is usually wherever the cable happened to come out of the wall. We survey the building, measure what's actually reaching the far corners, and move or add kit from there.

Backup and disaster recovery

Plenty of firms have backups. Far fewer have ever restored one. We test recovery on a schedule, and agree up front how long you could cope without your systems and how much work you could afford to lose. Those two answers decide what we build.

Networks and firewalls

Everything else sits on top of this. We design and install the network, keep the guest Wi-Fi well away from your file server, and set the firewall up properly rather than leaving it on whatever it shipped with. We'll coordinate the cabling if the building needs it.

Audio-visual and meeting rooms

The aim is a room where the call starts on time and nobody's hunting for an adapter. Screens, cameras, mics and speakers sized for the actual room, wired into Teams or Meet so joining is one button.

CCTV, smart lighting and access

Cameras, lighting and door entry on one system with one login, rather than four apps and four forgotten passwords. Footage stays on hardware you own. We set retention to match your policy, which matters more than people expect if you ever have to hand footage over.

Legal technology support

Case management, time recording, dictation and document production don't behave like normal office software, and most IT firms log a ticket with the vendor and wait. We support them ourselves. We also understand why a matter file can't just be deleted when someone runs low on disk space.

Strategic IT guidance

What to buy, when to replace it, what it should cost. We'll chase your vendors so you don't have to, and plan office moves and new hires before they turn into a panic. If you're growing, the decisions you make now are the ones you'll be stuck with.

Industries we know our way around

Ten areas we've worked in before. The software differs, the rules differ, and the things that go wrong differ. So the support does too.

Media, sport and broadcast

Matchday, fight night, a tournament final. Whatever the content, it's live and nobody is rescheduling it. Editing storage that keeps up, upload paths that finish before deadline, and a network that doesn't pick the worst possible moment to fall over.

Commercial property and real estate investment

Deal data is sensitive and the deadlines don't move. We build data rooms in SharePoint rather than renting one per transaction, lock down who can see what, and make sure the document set holds up when the other side's solicitors start digging. We also do the fit-out on the buildings you buy.

Why Lucame

You'll know who you're talking to

  • You get an engineer, not a script

Whoever picks up has been in your building and seen your setup. You won't be explaining the problem for the third time.

  • We don't take kickbacks

No vendor pays us to recommend their kit. If the cheaper switch does the job, we'll say so.

  • Remote first, on site when it matters

Most things get fixed without anyone travelling. Cabling, surveys, installs and moves happen in person, on a date you agreed rather than whenever we can fit you in.

  • Plain English

Reports a director can read without a translator. The technical detail is there underneath if you want it.
