Microsoft is updating the network analytics section of Viva Engage, the enterprise social and communications tool that sits within Microsoft 365. The changes include custom date ranges, quicker data refreshes, and a redesigned dashboard. Admins will also be able to filter activity by reporting line, so you can see engagement across a team or a whole management hierarchy. These updates are due to roll out in December 2026.
What this means for your business
If you're using Viva Engage to run internal communications, this makes it easier to see what's actually landing with staff rather than just guessing. The people-manager filters are particularly useful if you've got department heads who want to understand engagement within their own teams. Worth revisiting your Viva setup closer to the rollout date to see whether these reports are worth building into your comms workflow.
