AI agents are changing what your security lead needs to do

17h agoVia Microsoft SecurityWritten for Lucame clients

As businesses bring in more AI tools and automated agents, the job of keeping everything secure is getting more complicated. Security leaders now have to worry about two things at once: making sure AI tools are set up safely from the start, and dealing with attackers who are also using AI to move faster and hit harder. Microsoft's security team has been talking publicly about how to handle both sides of that problem. It's not just a big-enterprise concern either, the same pressures are starting to reach smaller firms.

What this means for your business

If you're using any AI-assisted tools in your business, whether that's Copilot, automated workflows, or anything that connects to your data, you need to know what those tools can access and who's in control of them. The risk isn't theoretical: poorly configured AI tools can expose client data or give attackers a way in. It's worth having a conversation with your IT provider about identity controls and data permissions before you add anything new to your setup.
