Microsoft is bringing Copilot Studio cost management into the Microsoft 365 admin centre, so admins won't have to jump between that and the Power Platform admin centre to keep track of AI spending. You'll be able to set spending policies at the environment and agent level, which gives you a more granular grip on where Copilot Credits are being consumed. Cost data for agents built on Microsoft platforms will also start appearing in the admin centre alongside an agent registry. This is due to go live in October 2026.
What this means for your business
If your business is using or planning to use Copilot Studio agents, this will make it easier to spot where your AI credit spend is going and put a ceiling on it before costs run away. It's worth keeping an eye on this as the rollout approaches, particularly if you're running multiple environments or letting different teams spin up their own agents. For now, there's nothing to act on, but it's worth factoring into any Copilot Studio planning you're doing this year.
