Two actively exploited vulnerabilities patched in VMware and Linux

21h agoVia CISAWritten for Lucame clients

The US cybersecurity agency CISA has confirmed that two vulnerabilities are being actively exploited in the wild. One affects Broadcom's VMware ESX hypervisor platform, which is widely used to run virtual servers. The other is in the Linux kernel and relates to an uninitialised variable that can be abused by attackers. Both have been added to CISA's catalogue of known exploited vulnerabilities.

What this means for your business

If your business runs VMware ESX or any Linux-based servers, these need patching now rather than at the next scheduled maintenance window. Active exploitation means someone is already using these flaws against real targets, so waiting isn't a safe option. Check with your IT team or us that the relevant updates have been applied.
