Business Central gets EU Deforestation Regulation support

Microsoft is adding EUDR compliance tools to Dynamics 365 Business Central, due in November 2026. The feature lets businesses record certification details against individual item lots rather than the item itself, which makes sense because different batches of the same product can carry different certificates, origins and validity dates. A simple flag on the Item Card marks a product as EUDR-relevant and automatically enforces lot tracking. Certificate details can then be printed directly on a sales invoice.

What this means for your business

If your business imports or sells timber, paper, cattle, soy, cocoa, coffee, palm oil or rubber into the EU, you'll need to comply with EUDR requirements and be able to produce documentation on demand. This feature means Business Central can hold that certificate data at lot level and print it on invoices, which is exactly what auditors and trade partners will want to see. If you're on Business Central and this applies to your goods, it's worth planning now so your item and lot records are in order before the feature lands next year.
